Denim

x Graduation Dress

Alright now that that is done with I just have to create my outfit for the Gala, and to start working on my clients orders. Not bad. Also my clothing from Fashion Stroll that didn't sell will be at Frosty Darling. Woo! Also I have a interview next Friday, what to wear? hmm...

Last night after I had finished the dress and it had been picked up I decided to go out. Usually I don't ever go anywhere alone other than work. I like to be with other people, but i realized that waiting around for other people in order to do what you want is stupid. I walked around, read the rest of my graphic novel, ate dinner at Eva's, and then walked back up the hill and went to bed. Sweet independence.

During the campout I wore my pajamas with my outfit and created a crazy outfit. I like how at this point no on says anything anymore.

6.1.10 WARNING POST ABOUT POKEMON AND THINGS THAT DONT MATTER TO YOU

This weekend I took a step away from Salt Lake City and landed in Downata Idaho. It was that time of year were I spend 3 straight days with my fathers side of the family. I am closest to these particular cousins, we've spent a large portion of our lives in each others basements playing video games.

Our pack of cousins consists of 10 male cousins from the ages 20 - 11 and me and my two sisters. We have alot more cousins but they were really never part of the core, either they were older and way too cool for us or their parents had issues that didn't allow us to bond. Once a year we go "camping" together. Our idea of camping is usually staying in a large cabin were our moms cook the whole time and we all play video games and get it to geek fights.

This particular campout also hosted the 2010 Primo Pokemon Battle. There were 6 people participating in teams of two. My brother and I were a team, and WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've supressing how excited I am about this. I feel like I cant show my cousins how into it I am because I need to keep atleast a little dignity. I cant tell my friends because they didn't get it in the first place. So Im telling you, we kicked some 11 year old ass. One team was a total let down and oddly they were seemingly closer to our age (18 &19). Then we battle the 11 & 15 yo for the title and WON.

I've confided in you how I am an extremely sensitive person. How I have so much emotion packed in here that it gets in the way of living. Well after the title battle my 11 yo cousin than stated that they only lost because of my brother. Wah! He basically said I was dead weight. Being the successful grown up I am, I almost cried . Then I set out to beat him. I trained ALOT more, had some help from my brother and only cheated alittle bit. When I do something I put alot of thought and effort into it. I have tactic and think it through. It was obvious that that was why me and my brother had such a good team. I had 4 level 65 Pokemon, and 2 level 82 Pokemon. My cousin had 3 level 75-80 Pokemon and like a level 39, and two 50. Unfortunately I cant swear in front of him but I was like

"What the Fuck?"

I trained so hard and thought about this way more than I should of and your dealing me with this bullshit? For these kids its just fun but for me its serious. In order for me to participate I had to play on the bus in between jobs. Play during walking to work. Play during a small break from sewing I put alot of effort into it. So basically I'm a total nerd, geek, dork, fool or as I would say a Nereek Do Fo. Well in the end I easily terminated his team. His retort in being beaten was,

"Well I only lost because you have differnt pokemon!"

Of course I wanted to yell at him like the crazy I am, but again Im an adult.

"NO! These are the same Pokemon as before! You always make excuses for why you lost but this time the true reason is become I'm better then you!"

Im a Nereek Do Fo.

Oh, here are photos from Minnetonka Cave.

Naturally I am unbelievable tired. My body and brain are like

" You had your fun, you made a clothing line, beat a bunch of school kids at their own game, spent the weekend with your family. All super tiring things, thats it we need 48 hours of sleeping."

Sorry brain and body! We've got a graduation dress to make! Oh and maybe a gala outfit for you by Friday.

5.28.10

Awhile ago I came across the photo Thomas took of me after my bike accident. I am taken aback every time I see it.

The bike accident happened about two years ago around this time. I had recently started riding my bike everywhere. It was another time in my life when I was stressed the shit out. Me and my siblings were doing fashion stroll then and things weren't turning out right. I rode the train out to the suburbs and then my bike to their house. Somehow the train trax caught my tire and I dont really remember hitting the ground, but I did. Which is bad because that mean I blacked out a little. Anywho, it was a really strange experience. My family still thinks this is one of the scariest things that has ever happened to them. A stranger dropped my off at my parents house and I walked in with that (see photo) face. I remember crying because I thought going to the doctor would be expensive. My face actually really didn't hurt.

Its just really surprising to come across that photo. I keep forget it even happened. I forget that I was a physical monster for a month.

I'm going out of town for a bit, I will take photos.

Hey! There is a random friendly cat in this photo!

I took these photos a few days ago, and strangely even after some practice I still totally flubbed them. I mean, I totally meant for my face to be washed out. I know thats a style now but I usually dont go for that. SO sorry about that.

This week I have been able to go on two runs. Which has been fabulous. After being seemingly lock in my apt forced to sew for the last two weeks, its nice to go back to a normalish schedule. I like that working out is part of my life. Never in a million years did I think I would like to run and I would choose to do it. I am a super competitive person, to the point where it sucks the fun out of my favorite past times. But sometimes in order for me to enjoy something there has to be NO competition. Just me running, no coach saying I'm too slow, no getting lost from the rest of the team in a mountain trail, no crying. Just me going my own pace, where I want to go when I want to. I of course have the goal to loose weight and become healthier but its very different from previous running goals.

Nice.

5.26.10

Last night I took it easy. I didn't watch a movie or sew anyting. I did finally catch an elusive bus, begin building my cardboard fort around the guest bed, and play Pokemon for hours. I am training my Pokemon for a battle with 4 my male cousins. We are grouped in teams of two. I have to battle my teammate before the actual tournament, I would like to absolutely destroy him. Yay! SO I've been playing non-stop. Is it totally illogical to be paranoid that they might be reading this? Who am I kidding no one reads this!

I've been thinking a lot about who I am and whether I've changed over time. There are some definite things that have changed. So many things about myself have changed in the last 10 years ago or even 1 year ago. BUT I've always been the same person. Meaning I mostly think and want the same things. I've learned alot and make better decisions with every new year. I like to think of myself now as who I always wanted to be through out my infancy and teen years. I really am basically what I wanted to be loved, attractive, awesome wardrobe, own apartment, successful, world traveler, well liked etc...I bring this up because I've been looking at high school people online and when I look back at myself its possible for them not to completely recognize me now. I now go by my full name, I dress feminine and sometimes outlandish, my hair is half as long as my person, and I've really blossomed. Although so much has changed I feel like nothing has changed. These thoughts are most evident to me as I wait for the bus wearing and adorable handmade sun dress with two extremely heavy bags filled with computer, dremmel, wood, jewel saw, chips and Pokemon handbook. During all this I'm intently playing Pokemon on my gameboy and hoping the 517 arrives soon.

It's over, the Fashion Stroll has come and gone. I have sewed day and night and thought of nothing else. That is over now. The show went well, I have a hard time saying anything is GREAT!!!! Because I'm realistic. It rained like CRAZY that early evening. There were some booths that were not prepared for the rain. We in fact were overachievers. We had a canopy, a dressing room, and led lights than ran from batteries and hung like chandeliers.

The runway show went well and I will show you photos as soon as Greg and I process them. Here are photos of some of the finished items of clothing.

This is what my sewing room looked like the day before the show, Chaos! My outfit is also somewhat chaotic. This room continues to get smaller and smaller, I have 4 giant TV boxes in here that I plan to make into a fort around the guest bed. Now I have time!

I've been slacking, on this blog that is. Otherwise I've been incredible busy. I am constantly tired. I think its because my dreams are weighed with thought and worry. Usually Im the type of person who cant sleep in past 7:30. I get up and start puttering around. Lately on Sat Ive slept til 10:30. On weekdays I've been sleeping til 8 which is really late for me. This Friday is the fashion stroll, and my clothing will be displayed. I'm hoping that I can relax after that. Im not sure I will though. I have 3 orders to complete soon after the show and trips to plan. Hmmm... Being busy is good though, for me its always been a way to gauge level of importance.

NEXT FRIDAY is Fashion Stroll. I have to have all 6 of my outfits ready. Im very nervous, I hope it all looks great and that I can sell atleast one thing.

5.6.10

I have something that all those other blog girls don't have. Can you guess what it is? Nope its not this Green Velvet coat.

Yup, its my little tummy constantly poking out of my clothes. Recently I realized how small most other daily outfit bloggers are. Alot of blogger I read have been selling their own clothes and when I take a look at their wares Im shocked by everything being a size 0. I am definitely not a size 0, as you can tell in these photos.

For me getting dressed is like solving a puzzle. I take inconsideration my shape, what I would like to highlight and conceal. I think of my coloring (funny was of saying it). My largest point is my chest (gift and curse) my smallest point right below mt chest. For my shape I look best in dress with an Empire waist. It shows off the size of my smallest point and then flows out hiding my stomach. I think that every person can look attractive and well dressed. Its just important to know what your working with.

I try to steer clear of pants, too short t-shirts, non flowy skirt, too tight anything.
I look for print and good deep colors, thicker fabrics, a skirt that flows out, etc.
