Hello.
Here is a quick update of whats going on with me currentlyish.
1) Had my Crossfit anniversary in April. Last January I completed the Whole 30 paleo food challenge. This is when I really saw some weight come off. I'm not totally to my weight goal or looks goal but I feel pretty good and I do wear a bikini. OH! and I completed my first sprint triathlon back in May, Irongirl Lake Las Vegas. I've been enjoying taking a few jujitsu courses here and there. It's really helped with my confidence, I now know if something came up I could protect myself and others. Favorite exercises: Weighted Back Squats, Cycling and Thrusters.
2) School! I'm about to start my second year. Last year I made the Dean's List both semesters. This semester I'm looking at 2 sculpture courses, 1 art history and 1 writing/quantitative class. Let's do this shit!
3) Last school year I applied for a million scholarships but got none that helped pay my tuition. The only one I did receive was a full ride scholarship for a craft school. This made it possible for me to go to North Carolina for 2 1/2 weeks and learn how to make Neon Signs. Yup, I chose out of all the wonderful options to make neon signs. While there I made a few signs that say ASS. Once I finish my rap music post you'll understand better my interest in the seemingly absurd. Overall camp was awesome, so many stories!
Also art wise I've been watercolor painting a lot. I really like it and hope to be done with my personal summer capstone painting in the next few weeks.
4) Internships for last school year. Fall Semester: Book Arts Program. Spring Semester: Arts Bridge (teaching public school kids art) Summer: The Leonardo. Upcoming Fall Semester: One Million Bones.
5) Working on the house, the outside is still bad but the inside is wonderful! Married almost 2 years now. Relationship-wise we are not the gushy type so I just want to mention Greg's around and things are good, now back to mememe.
6) So... LDS stuff... What to say. I still go to church now and then as a way to spend time with my family. I see myself as a spiritual person so it works. Whenever political or gay stuff or any negative conversation things are brought up, I leave. It's only happened once but I know it will happen again. I've been in this weird in-between moment for awhile, not knowing what to do. I felt pushed to make a choice but I've decided to make a choice by not making a choice. My decision is to continue exploring the wide world and not limit myself by other people rules but to continue to spend time with my family and try to learn to be a better person.
As a student and a home owner I had to change my priorities. I SO want to continue purchasing wonderful clothing but that's not in the books. Last year that realization hit hard but I'm hoping this year will be better, I'm getting use to these facts and just trying to be creative with what I do have. On my recent trip to North Carolina then Chicago I did purchase a few things here and there. Hopefully we can get back to some outfit photos.
